Kas (Hebasos) is situated on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, 168 km to the west of Antalya. This is a relatively unspoiled beautiful tourist town with hot climate, clear turquoise water and bright Mediterranean sky beside outstandingly beautiful landscape.
The presence of huge Necropolis highlights its importance in the antique times. It came under Greek domination while it was a Lycian city then Romans took it over until 395, after that it remained under Byzantine rule, suffered frequent Arab incursions before it was annexed by the Seljuk Turks.
