VIEW OF GOLDEN HORN FROM THE PIERRE LOTI HILL
Even in very hot summer days there is always a pleasant breeze from the sea up to the Hill to the Café where a nice Turkish coffee is worth more than the effort in walking up to the Hill. For those not willing to take the winding path there is cable car drives operating to and from the Hill every 15 minutes.
The hill is situated almost at the end of 7 km long water inlet 'Golden Horn'.
Grave stones of the old grave yard where only some privileged families have been able to secure a place.
The hill was named after the French novelist and naval officer Pierre Loti who visited Istanbul several times and stayed many years.
