Yesemek Open Air Museum is located southeast of Islahiye district, 23 km from Islahiye and 113 km from Gaziantep, on a hill side on the southeast of the village called Yesemek.
The land consists of violet to gray good quality fine basalt stones as a result has been used as a Stone Quarry and Statue Workshop in the late Hittite era.
One can observe many half finished statues, as many as 300 of them were taken out during the recent years. They seem to reflect the influence of Assyrian and Hittite characteristics as the area came under their dominations.
